The service

Watermark generates uniquely marked copies of documents you upload and, when asked, analyses an artifact to identify which copy it came from. We provide identification signals for your own decision-making; we do not warrant that any result constitutes legal proof.

Your account

Your account is your phone number, and anyone who can receive its messages can sign in as you. Keep control of the number, and tell us before you give it up — a number you no longer hold is an account we cannot return to you, because there is no password or email to fall back on.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the recipient lists you provide. We do not meter the number of marked copies you make. Your documents stay traceable for 90 days (Free) or for as long as your subscription is active plus 90 days of grace (Pro). For documents that cannot be traced by our automatic checks, we offer human Investigations for $299 per case.

Responsible use

Watermark is for documents you own and are entitled to distribute. It is not a surveillance tool. You may not use it to mark material you have no rights to, to track individuals outside a legitimate confidentiality interest, or in violation of applicable law. We may suspend accounts that breach this section.

Liability

The service is provided as-is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim.
